TOUR C 16B
DAY 1: CAPE TOWN – CAPE L’AGULHAS
We start out along the N2 freeway to Gordon’s Bay then on to Betty’s Bay along Clarence Drive, one of the most dramatic coastal roads in the country, with several look-out points along the way. We continue past Hermanus, an up-scale week-end & holiday resort, and during June — October the Southern Right Whale can be seen in abundance. At Gansbaai there is the opportunity for shark- cage diving. Then it’s onto the quaint Elim mission station before we finally reach Cape Agulhas, a rocky area which is the geographic southern tip of Africa. We overnight at Ou Pos B&B.
DAY 2: We follow the coast to Struisbaai with its 14km-long beach, then onto Arniston. Here a short hike to Waenhuiskrans is a highlight. Fields of wheat, canola and barley surround us en route to Bredasdorp. We visit de Hoop Nature Reserve and overnight in the area.
DAY 3: An exciting journey awaits us. We cross the Breede River on the Malgas Pont, still manually-powered, then enjoy the picturesque village of Witsand. We rejoin the N2 near Heidelberg. A visit to Aloe Vera gives an interesting insight into how the indigenous aloe is used in cosmetics and herbal medications. Our overnight stop is at the Garden Route Game Reserve.
DAY4: GARDEN ROUTE
We now start the world-renowned Garden Route with a drive around Mossel Bay and Groot Brak Rivier. Thereafter we visit Victoria Bay, the Wilderness and Sedegfield, where we stroll along Myoli beach, dwarfed by its towering dunes. We move on to overnight at Knysna.
