Here one sees herds of elephant in the same valley bushveld as they roamed thousands of years ago. In the way of nature, a dung beetle works busily through the huge piles of elephant dung, in the midst of kudu, hartebeest, warthog, zebra – possibly black rhino – and many buffalo. There is a bird hide near the well-appointed restaurant.
The park has been enlarged to take in the Karoo to the North, and Algoa Bay as its southern border. Uniquely, it features the Big 7, (Big 5 + Southern Right Whale and Great White Shark) and dolphins can also be seen near Bird Island.
This is a must-see park in Africa, only 73 kilometers from the Nelson Mandela Metropole.
